HAVE YOU RECENTLY LOST A CHOSEN FAMILY MEMBER?
This study is being done to improve psychosocial support services for chosen family members who have lost an LGBTQ+ loved one due to a life-limiting illness. Findings from this study will be used to inform recommendations for inclusive and affirming end-of-life care and bereavement
services. For bereaved chosen family members who would like to contribute to our understanding of kinship, caregiving, and bereavement, this is a way to make a difference.
Participation in this study involves engaging in a 60-90 minute interview via videoconferencing. Are you eligible?
• You are 18 years or older
• You currently reside in the United States or Canada
• You are a chosen family member of a person identifying as LGBTQ+ who died due to life-limiting illness
• The time since your loss is greater than 6 months but less than 5 years
• You are fluent in English

IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED PERINATAL LOSS, YOU MAY BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN A RESEARCH STUDY
We are interested in hearing the stories of individuals who experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, and/or early infant loss. This type of research is important because by understanding the unique challenges associated with this kind of loss, mental health and medical professionals will be better able to support other people going through similar experiences. 
The study will involve participating in a semi-structured interview in which individuals will be encouraged to share their stories of loss. The interview can take place virtually or in person according to your preference. 
After completing the interview, you will receive a gift card.
Are you eligible?
- You and/or your partner / co-parent experienced a perinatal loss since January 2020 or up to three months ago
- You are at least 18 years old
- You are willing to participate in a recorded interview lasting approximately 60-90 minutes
