Dr. Kailey Roberts (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and Consultant Faculty member at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, specializing in bereavement. She earned her PhD in clinical psychology from The New School for Social Research and completed her clinical internship and a postdoctoral fellowship in geropsychology at the Brooklyn VA. In addition, she has received a decade of training in psycho-oncology and bereavement at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, supported by National Cancer Institute-funded predoctoral and postdoctoral research fellowships.

In her teaching, research, and clinical work, Dr. Roberts focuses on supporting individuals facing adversity through connection to their unique sense of meaning, identity and purpose. Her mixed-methods research focuses on the development and implementation of psychosocial assessments and interventions for patients with life-limiting conditions, their caregivers, and the bereaved. She is particularly interested in drawing on patient, caregiver, and clinician qualitative feedback to optimize interventions for diverse psychosocial needs and sociocultural contexts. Dr. Roberts is currently leading research on bereavement risk screening, perinatal loss, and bereavement in LGBTQIA+ chosen families. Additionally, she is a collaborator on numerous projects focused on adaptations of Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy and Meaning-Centered Grief Therapy, bereavement in parents, LGBTQIA+ affirming palliative care, and bereavement care training.
